WYLDEWOOD
The Wyldewood 9-hole golf outing was a great success, played on a beautiful afternoon and. followed by dinner in the clubhouse.
First-place honors went to Jerry Wheatley, Agnes Thomson, Spencer Wells, and Kerry Axum. Kerry also claimed the men’s Closest-to-the-Pin prize with a shot that landed approximately eight feet from the pin. JoAnn Wipperman earned the women’s Closest-to-the-Pin award with a putt from the farthest edge of the green — and as they say, a win is a win!
Dinner followed in the clubhouse, where missed putts and wayward greens were revisited. Raffle tickets were drawn for a variety of prizes, adding to the fun of the evening.
Thanks to Ed and Terri Myers and Carol Weber for hosting this annual event. Carol has not only been instrumental in this outing but has also organized the majority of our social events this year. A job very well done!
A special thanks also for Julie Becknell, who hosted the Woman’s monthly coffee at the pool. March brought even more social activities, including Jersey Night and so-long parties. Hard to believe this is already the April issue. It’d been an interesting season, with a few colder nights and less rain. Our pool area has new fans and lighting. Our cool aqua umbrellas protect us from the rays and new plantings grow.
Just as the swallows return each spring to Mission San Juan Capistrano, many of our own “snowbirds” will soon be heading back to their Midwestern and Eastern homes to reconnect with family and friends. Safe travels to all, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back next season.
