The season is right around the corner. September is here, and we are off to a wet start. While we need the rain to help with the drought deficit, it has caused some extreme conditions on the golf course. While we know it is an inconvenience, we also want to make sure that the golf course is in the best condition possible for everyone.
The pro shop has received a lot of new merchandise. Thank you to our retail manager, Lee Katherine Baird, for providing us with a wide variety of brands. She and I will work side by side to see what brands sell, and if we need to make any changes to the program going forward.
Recently, we had our Labor Day weekend tournament. 41 golfers played in the 18-hole scramble. Our final summer tournament will be on Columbus Day weekend, Saturday October 10. It is $50 for members plus $3 for the prize pool. Nonmembers will pay $65 plus $3 for the prize pool. Sign ups are now until Saturday October 3.
For those of you that are here, you have probably seen a bunch of juniors here with me Mondays from 5-7PM. That is our PGA Junior league team. As we try to develop a junior program here, if you know of any children looking to advance their golf capabilities, please feel free to send them here. Also, if you’re looking for help with your game, please stop down to book a lesson. Next month, we will have our seasonal golf lesson program and weekly group lesson series announced.
EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
Our September employee of the month is Masha Beach. She has been an employee at Cross Creek for eight months and works in the administrative office. She has grown up and resides in Fort Myers. When Masha isn’t working, she enjoys soccer, live music, traveling, baking, and playing golf. She considers the staff here at CC like family. “It’s wonderful getting to know all the members. The course is also fun to play with family and friends” says Masha. She played soccer for York College of Pennsylvania, as well as owned a cookie business. She would sell these, for fun, at the farmers’ market.
