HOLIDAY SCRAMBLE AND LUNCHEON

There was Merry and Bright, and plenty of jolly Ho Ho Ho’s at the Women’s 18 Golf League Holiday Scramble and Luncheon, held December 4. The morning started early, because there was so much to do before the shotgun start at 8 a.m. (Note to management: 8:30 a.m. in 2025, please.)

Drop off the golf clubs. Go inside clubhouse to register and leave donation for Toys for Tots, and Secret Santa gift. Plus, drop dollar bills for chances at 50:50, raffles, and mulligans. Slip out and decorate golf cart – there’s a judged contest, with prizes! Then, bundle up, baby. It’s chilly outside.

After 18 rounds of merriment, the ladies shared another meal planned and prepared by Cross Creek’s restaurant staff – a big thank you to Chef Juan and Dave for the Build Your Own Taco Bar. We appreciate your hospitality, and the secret sauce in the dipping salsa! There were raffle prizes and Secret Santa gifts to open, and plenty stealing of gifts with booze or lottery tickets. There was more booze stolen than golf balls; could golf be driving us to drink? Hmmm?

All in all, the weather was good to us, the course was good to us, and fun was had by everyone. Thank you to Arlene McClintock and Lesa Foss, for managing the hundred little pieces that make this event fun. Hope to see everyone back next year, and bring a friend!

CROSS CREEK BIG 10 GOLF CHALLENGE

Saturday, March 1, 10 a.m. Shotgun Start. Four-person scramble.
Lunch and prizes to follow golf in the Cross Creek restaurant. Bring your school spirit and show your support for your favorite team. Sign-up in the Pro Shop will be available mid-January.
