Notes From The Master Board

  • January 2026
  • By Mary Peabody, Director

Happy New Year! We hope your 2026 is off to a wonderful start. If this is your first winter at Cross Creek, welcome!! This is a magical place to spend the winter months. There are so many activities that your calendar can get full very quickly. Remember to schedule time to enjoy the beach, the local Farmers’ Markets, a bike ride or a quiet walk through one of the many parks nearby. It is also flu and cold season so take care of yourself and if you’re feeling unwell get plenty of rest, stay hydrated and avoid crowds.

HIGHLIGHTS

• The second phase of the Lakes Project is underway. Please respect all the staging areas and steer clear of active work zones. It’s a tricky balance getting the work done when the golf course is in the middle of the busy season. We appreciate your patience.

• Thank you to all the volunteers that did a fabulous job decorating our community for the holidays. It is impossible to see the lights and not feel your spirits lift a little. Reminder: we’ll be taking down the decorations on Monday, January 5 starting at 8 a.m. in the Clubhouse. If you can spare a few minutes your help would be appreciated.

• There are many social events scheduled for the coming months which means the Clubhouse will be very busy. Please remember to make reservations for all meals and events early to avoid disappointment.

• The 2026 Bocce League begins on Monday, January 5. Play is Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. That means the parking lot will fill up quickly. For those that are able to walk or carpool please do so … and be extra vigilant in the parking lot as there will be golf carts, pedestrians, delivery trucks, etc.

• As most of you know, Shane Mills left his position of Golf Operations Manager in late November. The golf course and Pro Shop staff are picking up the slack and, while we hope the position can be filled quickly, we are confident that all events and leagues will continue without interruption.

• If you are reading this and you do not receive regular emails from Cross Creek regarding events, updates, reminders, etc. you may want to consider signing up to get on that mailing list. You can do this easily by emailing [email protected] and asking to be added. Yes, you will get a few more emails in your inbox but you will also be more aware of what’s happening in your community.

• Finally, a reminder from our Rules & Regulations Handbook … Recreational walking, jogging, biking or skating (with or without dogs) on any portion of the golf course is strictly forbidden at all times. If you do not have a copy of the Resident’s Handbook you can pick one up at the administration office during business hours.
